PitStop Server 08
« back to FAQs index
Q: What are the New Features in PitStop Server 08
A:

New, user-friendly interface
A completely new user interface gives direct access to all major functionality and makes it easier to setup hot folders and monitor PitStop Server operation.

Improved performance
Faster PitStop Library ensures faster file processing. Support for multi-processor machines means that two PDF files can be processed at the same time.

True server behavior and processing
PitStop Server 08 can run as a login item on Mac and a true Windows NT service on PC, which makes it easier to manage on a server machine. A dedicated watchdog application automatically restarts PitStop Server if problems occur.

More powerful hot folders
In PitStop Server 08, hot folders can be locked to prevent tampering. You can also import and export them to simplify moving installations between different servers. During processing hot folders can now also rename processed files and can preserve folder structures so you can process complete folders with related PDF files.

Updated to the latest standards and operating systems
PitStop Server 08 is fully compatible with the latest Enfocus preflight profiles from PitStop Professional 08; it supports the new PDF/X-4 and the latest specifications from the Ghent PDF Workgroup. Microsoft Windows Vista and Apple Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) are supported as well.
